Winter Porta Potty Rentals in Cloudcroft, Ruidoso and the Mountains
Cloudcroft sits near 8,600 feet and Ruidoso near 6,900 feet. Winter nights freeze, snow can close mountain roads for a day, and water in a sink or flush tank will freeze solid if it is not planned for.

Do porta potties freeze in winter?
Porta potties can freeze in the mountains when nights drop well below 32°F. The holding tank gets a salt or antifreeze charge through the cold months to slow freezing, and the technician adds more on each weekly service visit until spring.
What about handwashing and flushing units?
Handwashing stations and deluxe flushing units hold fresh water that freezes in cold weather. Through the coldest winter months, mountain sites switch to hand sanitizer instead, or place the station somewhere sheltered such as inside a garage, barn or heated trailer.
Restroom trailers have heat, but their water lines still need protection on freezing nights. Ask before booking a winter trailer.
Can snow delay delivery or service?
Snow can delay mountain deliveries and service visits when US-82 or US-70 is slick or closed. The dispatcher calls you if a route moves, and the visit is made as soon as roads are safe, usually the next clear day.
Where should a winter unit be placed?
A winter porta potty should sit where snow is cleared, on a plowed driveway or near a door, with a clear path that will not ice over. Keep it away from roof edges that dump snow, and tell us where the truck can turn around.
