How Porta Potty Rental Works, From Booking to Pickup

Every step of a rental, so nothing surprises you: what we ask on the phone, how to pick a spot, what the driver needs, what servicing includes and how to end the rental.

What information do you need to book?

To book a porta potty we need the delivery address or ZIP, dates, unit type and quantity, guest or crew count, an on-site contact phone, placement notes and any gate code. With that, an itemized quote is ready in minutes on the phone.

The order arrives by text or email as a short e-signature form. The unit is reserved once the order is signed and paid by card.

How should you choose the spot?

Choose a porta potty spot on firm, level ground the truck can reach, about 10 feet from doors and windows, away from septic leach fields, ditches and slopes, and close enough that people will use it. Mark the spot with a cone, flag or chalk X.

Placement checklist
SituationWhat to do
BackyardGate about 4 ft wide, firm level path
Gravel or dirt lotAvoid soft spots after rain
Windy open lotAsk for tie-down straps
HillsideUse a graded pad or driveway corner
Public propertyGet city, park or venue approval first

What happens on delivery day?

On delivery day the driver calls about 30 minutes ahead, places the unit on the marked spot, checks that it sits level, opens it to confirm it is clean and stocked, and leaves. Nobody needs to be home if the spot is marked and gates are open.

  • Deliveries run Monday through Saturday
  • Weekend event units arrive Thursday or Friday
  • Dogs secured, gates unlocked, vehicles moved

What happens on a service visit?

On a service visit the technician pumps the holding tank, scrubs the seat, urinal, floor and walls, recharges the tank with deodorizer, restocks toilet paper and sanitizer, and refills sinks and handwashing stations with fresh water, soap and towels. Visits are weekly on 28-day rentals.

Need an extra visit? Call or text and it is added to the next route.

How do extensions and pickup work?

Event units are picked up automatically the next business day. Long-term units keep billing every 28 days until you call or text for pickup, and billing stops the day you ask. To extend, do nothing on a long-term rental, or call to convert an event rental to 28-day billing.

Full terms, cancellations and damage rules are on the rental terms page.

More how it works questions

Can I change the placement after delivery?

Ask on the next service visit, or call for a move. A move fee may apply if it needs a separate trip.

What if the unit is damaged or tipped over?

Call right away. The unit is cleaned and replaced if needed. Damage from vandalism or misuse is billed to the renter.

Do you leave extra toilet paper?

Units are stocked on delivery and at every service. Ask for an extra case for long events.
